Does your leopard gecko have problems in the ‘toilet’ department? Hasn’t pooped in more than 5 days or so?
You might start to get a little worried. It is a common problem…here’s a few common techniques you might wanna try (only try one at a time!):
They might be dehydrated to you can give them a little more water (via a syringe)
A warm soak and a gentle belly rub often does the trick (leopard gecko spa treatment!)
Geckos are very sensitive to smells and scents so it might be that they’ve smelt a change of smell. For example, you might have changed your perfume or soap, or they’re smelling the scent of someone else in the household. So it might take a few days for them to get back into a rhythm and find their pooping spot in the cage.
If you have another gecko, you could take a bit of their poop, wrap it up in a power towel and place it into the bunged-up gecko’s cage.
You can get a laxative from your vet
As always, if the problem persists, seek proper advice from an experienced vet.
